Sunday lunch, the sequel

In my humble opinion, Part 2 is usually better than Part 1; think along the lines of The Godfather, Indiana Jones, Police Academy, Austin Powers, and now Sunday lunch. This time around Mother Nature co-operated and my grandparents (not to be confused with the grandparents who live with us) came over for lunch. The nonnos compared wines and hearing aids, while the nonnas discussed the best way to clean our new hardwood floors without scratching them.

Now I'm trying to find the motivation to read case studies and the wine is making it difficult for me to focus and stay awake. Hope your lunch was just as tasty and your afternoon more productive...

  • Butternut squash soup
  • Pork tenderloin with gravy (not veal like I thought)
  • Mini baked potatoes - 1 with sour cream, green onions, crispy prosciutto, cheddar and 1 with sour cream, chives, diced beets
  • Watercress and arugala salad (it was such a hit the first time)
  • Fresh olive loaf and 2 kinds of homemade wine (I couldn't tell the difference)
  • Espresso, biscotti, pane di Pasqua, pizzelle (we are so Italian)
I know the picture doesn't match the description, but I made that meal too so it still counts. It's the only one I have with all 4 grandparents where they are all looking at the camera and smiling.

Temple of Doom was definitely the weakest Indiana Jones, and it was pork tenderloin not veal.

Somebody has got a serious case of the Monday's! I'm a moron - I thought "Raiders of the Lost Ark" was the 2nd one.

sounds yum. i dont really like when people add orange zest to butternut squash soup and instead im left eating salad that has nutmeg which i then discover i dont really like either.

what i do like is Sister Act II - the best of all the acts, i think.
