Pothole In The City Results in Damage To My Vehicle

To whom it may concern,

I was driving Southbound on the Allen Road in between the 401 and Lawrence Avenue on Friday, March 7, 2008, when I hit a pothole on the right hand side of the right driving lane. I was driving to work so it was between 8:30am-8:45am. The damage caused by the pothole resulted in the replacement of the front springs, struts, and stabilizer links to my Ford Focus. Attached to this email is the invoice from the auto service company that did the assessment and work on my vehicle, as well as the receipts for the payments made by credit card. I believe I am entitled to a reimbursement from the city for the work done to my vehicle. Could you please inform me on how this situation will be dealt with.

Thank you,

Any bets on how long it will take to get a response or see a reimbursement?

p.s. Dave, thanks for taking care of this...nicely done with the e-mail. Who taught you to write so eloquently? And don't say your adopted half-sister.

i hit it so hard it slowed my speed from 90 to 60k/h practically instantly...like the legs disappearing on your chair while you're sitting down.

this happened to me TWICE, once in brampton and once on allen road. brampton - i hit a pothole and only got a flat tire luckily. allen - huge boulder from construction hit car in front of me, then smashed front end of my car.

got nothing in return but i didn't really try too hard b/c insurance said i wouldn't be at fault...i found out a year later it was put on my record.

wish you better luck! fight the bureaucracy!!
