I was hoping it wouldn’t come to this, but it’s getting closer to the big race day and I’m coming up short in fundraising. Now I’ve been keeping up my end of the deal and channeling my inner Forrest Gump. What I need is for you guys to step and make a donation to help fund research for cancers below the waist.
In the next 23 days all I need is another $480 to reach my (new) goal of $1500!!!
These cancers are often thought of as “taboo” because they affect personal areas of the body that may seem embarrassing or shameful to talk about. Unfortunately, this often results in a reluctance to be screened for these types of cancers, while early detection is key. Sunnybrook’s Underwear Affair is a chance to shed some light on these devastating diseases.
All you need to do is go online and make a donation. It’s that simple, you don't even have to get up from your chair! For more information about the run, the cause, and for facts about the Odette Cancer Centre check out the website.
Another great thing about this race is that it takes place at The Beaches and it starts at 6:30pm so there are events going on before and after (there is a huge "Exposed" after party at the finish line). You are all invited to come check it out on August 23rd and see me and thousands of other brave souls running in our underwear to raise awareness and money for cancers below the belt.
