thanks-giving

We got up early to stuff the bird and calculate cooking times. Then we washed, peeled, and chopped vegetables. Then we roasted, steamed, and mashed said vegetables. Tables were set, food was plattered, wine was drunk. There were arguments, heated discussions, and loud conversations. And I'm thankful for every last minute of it.

Amazing. that turkey looks to weigh about 18lbs to me pre-stuff. I swear that cake looks exactly like the one my zia makes my brother every single year. it's sooooo token italian cake. nice job.

*ahem* where's the pepper soup?

1. nobody messes with me and grace before meals, not even Dave.

2. the mashed potatoes make like 3 photo appearances - the casarole dish, Dave's plate, and on my close-up. but for the record, Claudia makes the BEST mashed potatoes ever!

3. there aren't any pics of the infamous pepper soup because by the time I dished it out and sat down to eat I was too hungry to think. and it was so good that there were no leftovers to photograph.

4. the 4-layer pumpkin cake is a 100% Kraft Canada original recipe
