a day of hidden gems

After one of the rougher weeks at work I took Friday to indulge. Curt drove in from Belleville and we went to the ROM to check out the Vanity Fair exhibit (and the impressive cocktail menu in the restaurant). Because we both love cooking and we're both redoing our kitchens, we went to Williams Sonoma and Anthropology and drooled over everything. We found a chocolate shop in Yorkville that reminded me of the movie Chocolate, and then wandered around Bloor to people watch and talk baking and cooking. Speaking of food, dinner (and wine and dessert) at Terroni was amazing and has inspired me to make homemade ravioli.

The most surprising part of the day was a visit to Honest Ed's - Curt had never been and I'm always up for a good rummage. That shrine I know has been there for ages (the inch of dust is a dead giveaway), but is the cuckoo clock something new, of have I just blocked it from my memory because it's so creepy?

That red-headed Blue Jay looks like he could use a seventh inning stretch.
